Jazz Bass Ukulele

Difficulty: Advanced

Cost: $$$

A bass ukulele can really round out the sound of a ukulele ensemble. I modeled this latest bass ukulele after the jazz bass made by Fender. I used Road Toad Pahoehoe strings on this instrument. The body is alder and the neck is maple with a rosewood fretboard.

I reamed out the slots for the bridge to accommodate the thicker strings. The piezo bridge is connected to the volume and tone control on the control plate. The control plate is made from three ply pickguard material.

The body has a sea foam green nitrocellulose finish.

The scale length is 21 inches.  The overall length is around 30 inches.

See it in action!

Is there any way you could make a template for the neck and body or can I get those from somewhere else

A bass ukulele modeled after the fender jazz bass would look great. I’m working on the 5 string version. How did you make the solid body the way fender did?

A Jazz Bass ukulele. The steel string version w/ 24 strings has an extremely wide neck & I’ve contacted D’Addario to make all string sets for all instruments in every gauge & material.
